Overview of the role The Cloud Engineer (Google Cloud Platform) is responsible for the implementation of business initiatives across Google Cloud Platform, with a particular focus on Data Science and Machine Learning infrastructure. This is a technical position requiring a strong understanding of GCP services and functionality, Terraform, networking, security, automation, and cloud operations. It is expected that the Cloud Engineer can contribute to solution design and articulate technical solutions to both technical and business stakeholders with clarity.

Designed and/or implemented solutions must be fit for purpose across several dimensions, notably cost, business requirements, scalability, resilience, performance, security, and maintainability, while allowing for future enhancements and improvements. The Cloud Engineer will work closely with the Data Science team to develop and maintain reusable infrastructure patterns, improve operational efficiency, and enable self-service capabilities through automation and Infrastructure as Code.
