Plego is hiring a senior engineer to build data pipelines and take machine learning models into production. This is a remote, full-time, long-term role. **The work** * Build and maintain batch or streaming data pipelines (Airflow, dbt, Spark, Kafka) * Model and manage data in a warehouse or lake (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks) * Train, evaluate, and deploy ML models (PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) * Serve models through APIs and keep them reliable with testing and monitoring * Deploy on AWS, GCP, or Azure using Docker and CI/CD **Requirements** * 5+ years in data engineering, ML engineering, or a closely related field * Strong Python and SQL * Real production experience, not just notebooks * Solid understanding of data modeling, system design, and testing **Nice to have** LLMs, RAG, vector databases, AI agents, MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI, Terraform, FastAPI or Flask, data quality and observability tools, and any of Java, Scala, Go, or TypeScript. **Budget** $55,000 to $75,000 per year. **How to apply** Send me a DM with your resume, your LinkedIn and/or GitHub, and a short note on one or two data or ML projects you’ve taken to production, including something that went wrong and how you handled it.
