For our client in Vienna (AT) , we are looking for an experienced FPGA Engineer to contribute to the development of an advanced hardware and software platform for particle accelerator systems. In this role, you will design and implement FPGA-based solutions for real-time control, high-speed data communication, and synchronized operations within a technically demanding and regulated medical-device environment. Your Tasks: Design, develop, and integrate FPGA-based embedded systems using Xilinx Zynq platforms Develop and maintain FPGA firmware frameworks, register maps, and hardware/software interfaces Implement and optimize PCIe communication and FPGA-to-Linux integration, including efficient data transfer and DMA mechanisms Design and implement high-speed optical communication interfaces , including Fiber Link MAP, GT transceivers, and custom communication protocols Optimize communication performance with a focus on bandwidth, latency, and reliability Contribute to the development of real-time measurement, control, and synchronized timing systems for particle accelerator components Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software engineers to ensure seamless integration into a unified control platform Support verification, testing, and technical documentation in accordance with regulated EU medical-device development processes Your Profile: Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Embedded Systems , or a comparable technical discipline Strong
