The prospective candidate will perform software development using Java technologies for distributed web and enterprise applications for DoD (Department of Defense) related projects. The prospective candidate will assist with requirements analysis, application design, code development, testing, code maintenance, software install and documentation. The work to be performed will primarily be done in Stafford, VA. Travel CONUS/OCONUS up to 20% may be required. The candidate will work as part of a mixed team of U.S. Government and contractor personnel in an Agile development environment. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Interface with stakeholders and users to gather and document requirements. Develop Java based software applications to meet requirements. Test, install, and maintain software on both windows and primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) operating systems. Some work may be performed at remote sites. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or related STEM field is required. Master’s degree is desirable. Professional experience, certifications, and demonstrated skills may be substituted for a formal degree. 1 or more years of full-time professional programming experience in Java Successful candidates must be well organized, a good communicator, and capable of multi-tasking; must possess strong analytical skills, and be able to work independently as well as in a team
