Amazon Lightsail makes AWS accessible to developers and business customers who want to get their cloud stacks running in seconds without the complexity of traditional infrastructure. As a Software Development Engineer II on the Lightsail team, you will build features and services that simplify compute, storage, networking, and website hosting for customers who need things to just work. The team is expanding quickly, adding new capabilities like website hosting and agent hosting, and you will help shape what comes next. You will work across the full software development lifecycle, from understanding customer problems through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations. If you are an engineer who enjoys building products you would actually use yourself, and you want to do that at AWS scale, we would like to talk to you.<br/><br/>Key job responsibilities<br/>Design and build features for Amazon Lightsail's distributed systems, working in Java, Go, JavaScript, and React across both backend services and frontend experiences.<br/>Collaborate with partner teams across AWS — including Amazon EC2, Amazon Route 53, Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon Simple Queue Service (Amazon SQS) — to integrate Lightsail capabilities with the broader AWS ecosystem.<br/>Own the operational health of the services you build by identifying root causes of production issues and driving permanent fixes, ensuring customers experience reliable performance.<
