SDET Engineer - API Automation - Chennai

We are seeking a highly skilled SDET Engineer with strong expertise in API testing, automation framework development, integration testing, and quality engineering practices. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of APIs and backend services across enterprise applications. This role requires close collaboration with development, product, and business teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions while driving test automation throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Lead and drive API Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and End-to-End (E2E) validation across multiple applications and platforms.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable API automation frameworks using Java, Rest Assured, Cucumber, TestNG/JUnit , or equivalent frameworks.
• Create and execute automated API test suites covering functional, integration, regression, and negative test scenarios.
• Validate RESTful APIs, microservices, and backend services including request/response verification, schema validation, authentication, authorization, and error handling.
• Perform service-level testing using tools such as Postman, Rest Assured, Swagger/OpenAPI, Newman , or similar open-source frameworks.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, architects, and third-party vendors to ensure comprehensive API test coverage and successful delivery.
