Backend Engineer - Java/Scala/Golang

About the role You’ll join a backend engineering team within Content Catalog domain. The team builds and operates systems that manage content and make it available. You’ll contribute to projects that improve how these systems work together, simplify their architecture, and support their reliability and maintainability.

Your initial assignment will be agreed based on business priorities and your experience. Collaboration and communication are central to this role. You’ll work with engineering teams, product managers, and other partners across the company to understand product requirements, clarify dependencies, and agree practical solutions.

You’ll connect technical decisions to product outcomes and build shared understanding among people with different perspectives and areas of expertise. The team will support you with domain knowledge and technical context as you take responsibility for a defined project, from discovery through implementation and handover.

Work with product managers and partners across the company to understand user needs, clarify requirements, and agree scope, responsibilities, and an achievable delivery plan. Communicate technical approaches, tradeoffs, progress, and risks clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, helping teams make informed decisions. Explore existing backend services, APIs, and data flows, then design, implement, and test improvements that meet product needs and support reliable, maintainable systems.
