Senior Backend Engineer (AWS Systems & Infrastructure) We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to take End-to-End Ownership of our backend systems for a mission-critical Regulatory Licensing Platform. You will be a key technical pillar on a lean, high-impact product team building application processing systems within a Highly Restricted Government Cloud Environment. This role demands a “Systems-First” mindset. You won’t just write code; you will own the entire lifecycle of your work – from architectural design, development to “Day 2” operational support, comprehensive monitoring, and infrastructure stability. We need someone who can translate complex compliance requirements into stable, production-ready reality without heavy oversight. CORE EXPECTATIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES End-to-End Ownership & Autonomy: Own backend systems from greenfield development through to production. Navigate technical ambiguity independently, proactively identifying blockers and driving implementations to completion without needing constant direction. Systems-Led Backend Development: Develop resilient APIs using [link] and PostgreSQL, designed for Just-in-Time (JIT) data access. You are responsible for writing comprehensive tests and ensuring all data is encrypted at rest and in transit. Infrastructure Support & Proficiency: Take operational responsibility for self-hosted components (EC2, EKS).
