Permanent / Full-time / Ilmenau, Erfurt or Leipzig - on site, especially during the first months / Start ASAP We are looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure & Cloud Engineer to own and improve Cuculus’ IT infrastructure, Jira Cloud administration, Linux systems, operational security, and transition from VM-based hosting to Microsoft Azure. This role combines hands-on infrastructure operations with architecture, automation, security, and cloud migration responsibilities. The successful candidate will help build a reliable, secure, and increasingly cloud-based IT environment. Your Role at a Glance Azure & cloud migration Lead the migration of selected virtual machines and services to Microsoft Azure. Design and maintain Azure infrastructure, including virtual networks, virtual machines, storage, identity, monitoring, backup, access controls, and cost management. Establish infrastructure-as-code and automation using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, Ansible, PowerShell, Bash, or Python. Linux & server operations Maintain and support Linux servers, virtual machines, Docker environments, and internal services. Plan and perform operating system upgrades, security updates, patching, hardening, and lifecycle management. Monitor infrastructure health, capacity, availability, backups, performance, and security vulnerabilities. Establish reliable backup, restore, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity procedures.
