Staff Software Engineer, Search Platform - Backend

About the team Turo's Search Platform is looking for brilliant Staff, Software Engineer who have a passion for consumer products and want to join an energetic team that is changing the way people think about travel. We ship code daily, A/B test extensively, and have a primary role in creating the product from inception to implementation. There's much to do, and you'll be responsible for making some real cool stuff happen.

Our APIs, internal services, and web apps are at the core of our stable of software that's reinventing mobility.

You will build scalable, low-latency, highly available distributed systems that power and evolve the infrastructure behind our Search Platform. You will collaborate extensively with product management, design, and engineers to develop product features that drive our metrics. You will produce high-quality maintainable code, test it, collaboratively review it and ship it.

You will identify areas to improve and scale our architecture and application design. You will develop tools and utilities to diagnose and fix problems. Ensure proper technical design and documentation.

Work efficiently in a constantly changing and growing environment where the process is fluid and creative solutions are desired. Your profile Typically a minimum of 7+ years experience shipping high-scale code to production. Hands-on experience with search engines (Opensearch or Elasticsearch) Strong proficiency in cloud-native architectures (AWS, Kubernetes, etc.)
