Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human level intelligence. Its robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA. We are seeking a hands-on Health & Safety Technician to join our team on a contract basis, with the potential to convert to a full-time role. This is a field-forward position ideal for someone who thrives on day-to-day operational safety work rather than primarily desk-based tasks. You will be the boots-on-the-ground resource ensuring our facilities are safe, compliant, and properly organized from a safety standpoint. Core Responsibilities Facility Labeling & Signage • Install, maintain, and audit required safety signage throughout the facility (hazard warnings, emergency exits, restricted areas, PPE requirements). • Ensure all chemical containers, storage areas, and equipment are properly labeled per OSHA and GHS/HazCom standards. • Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify missing, damaged, or non-compliant labels and signage and take corrective action promptly. Hazardous Waste Management • Manage the day-to-day handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with EPA, state, and local regulations. • Maintain satellite and central accumulation areas, ensuring proper labeling, containment, and recordkeeping. • Coordinate with licensed waste disposal vendors and prepare manifests and shipping documentation. • Track hazardous waste generation volumes and maintain compliance logs. <
