{MTN Ghana, Accra,Full-Time, GH,Degree,3 years,30 Jul-2026}; Position: Specialist, DBA Operations Level: MTN Level 2 Division: Information Technology Department: IT Operations Location: Accra Reports to: Senior Specialist, IT DBA Operations Job Summary: •Perform all activities related to maintaining a successful database environment which includes but not limited to Designing, Implementing, Securing the database systems in the enterprise. Job Context •Technology and Platform business •Multi-regulation and multifaceted stakeholder management •Public Listed Organization •Environmental, Social and Governance prioritized •Innovation Driven Industry •Global technology trends and advancements •Global & MTN Group approved IT Standards and Practices •Diverse cultural environment •Regionalization structure implication •Performance driven environment •Agile way of working Job Role •Creates and maintains all databases required for development, testing and production usage. •Plan and implement backup and recovery of the database. •Daily Monitoring of backup and recovery tasks. •Performing maintenance of disk groups, tablespaces and datafiles. •Establish and maintain database user accounts. •Implements and enforces security for all Databases. •Database performance optimization, troubleshooting and fine tuning. •Run daily database health checks. •Participates in upgrades and expansions for Databases. •Planning how much disk storage will be required and monitoring available disk space. •Document and archive completed projects/tasks, knowledge share, etc in an efficient manner. •Perform related duties assigned by line manager. Qualification Required & Experience Education •Minimum of a First Degree in Computer Science/Computer Engineering/Information Technology •Database Certifications •ITIL and other software and system certification •COBIT5: Business Framework for the Governance and Management of Enterprise IT •Agile working knowledge and related certifications.
