Job Summary We are seeking a visionary and hands-on Vice President (VP) of Java Engineering to lead the architecture, design, and development of our next-generation Order Management Systems (OMS) and Electronic Trading Platforms. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Architecture System Design: Architect, design, and implement distributed, highly scalable, and fault-tolerant Java applications for complex order routing, execution, and position management. Performance Optimization: Drive continuous latency reduction, memory management tuning, and performance optimization across the entire trading infrastructure. Modernization: Evaluate legacy OMS components and spearhead migration paths to modern event-driven architectures and microservices. Team Management & Delivery People Leadership: Mentor, coach, and manage a distributed team of senior Java developers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and agile delivery. Execution: Own the end-to-end software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring timely delivery of high-quality code that complies with rigorous regulatory and security standards. Code Quality: Enforce best practices in CI/CD pipelines, automated testing (unit, integration, and performance), and comprehensive code reviews. Business Alignment & Collaboration Stakeholder Management: Partner with front-office business stakeholders, including Traders, Quants, Risk Management, and Compliance teams, to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
