emagine is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with experience in GO, Kotlin or Python. Start: ASAP Duration: 6 months with possible extension Location: Stockholm (hybrid, minimum 3 days/week onsite) Language: English We are looking for a senior backend engineer to join a growing product and engineering organization working with large-scale digital platforms and complex distributed systems. The assignment involves a mix of backend development, technical modernization initiatives, platform evolution, and large-scale migration projects in a cloud-native environment. A significant part of the role will be focused on helping engineering teams modernize and transform existing systems, making previous experience from similar journeys highly valuable. This is a hands-on role where you will work across multiple services and domains, helping drive architectural improvements while ensuring stability, scalability, and business continuity in production environments. Key responsibilities • Design, develop and maintain backend services in a modern cloud environment • Lead technical migration initiatives, including decomposition of legacy applications and extraction of services from larger platforms • Plan and execute production data migration projects with a strong focus on reliability, consistency, and minimal business impact • Contribute to architecture, technical design and solution proposals • Work across multiple systems and services, often in unfamiliar codebases • Troubleshoot, m
