Location: UK Wide (Hybrid/On-site as required) Outside IR35 - Rate £50-£80 p/h Security Clearance: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Clearance (SC) RC Fornax is looking for a Software Engineer – Advanced Signal Processing & AI. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly skilled engineering team developing cutting-edge software solutions for advanced sensing, tracking, data fusion and artificial intelligence applications within complex maritime and defence environments. Key Responsibilities Design, develop and maintain software solutions supporting advanced signal processing, sensor fusion and tracking applications within maritime and defence environments. Implement, optimise and maintain production-quality software using C++, Python and related technologies. Develop software for sensor modelling, data processing, state estimation, anomaly detection and information fusion. Apply software engineering best practices, including automated testing, continuous integration and configuration management. Collaborate with systems, algorithms, hardware and verification engineers throughout the engineering lifecycle. Support software integration, debugging, performance tuning and system-level testing activities. Convert research concepts, algorithms and prototypes into scalable, maintainable and robust software solutions. Contribute to technical proposals, innovation programmes and future product development initiatives. Produce high-quality technical documentation, software designs and verification artefacts. Support the delivery of software solutions that meet performance, quality and security requirements. Required Experience & Skills Degree qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Electronic Engineering or a related discipline.
