I wanted to share a recent struggle in case anyone has been through something similar. I’m a senior full stack engineer with 10+ years of experience, mostly working across proptech, e commerce, and edtech. My stack includes React, React Native, Node.js, NestJS, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Prisma, Docker, and AWS. A few years ago I was freelancing on Upwork and had several long term clients. Things were stable, so I stepped away from Upwork for a couple of years. When I came back, it felt like I was starting from scratch. My 100% Job Success Score was gone, many postings seemed like scams, and a lot of decent looking jobs required a surprisingly huge number of connects. Since February 2026, I’ve been trying to move into another remote role. I’ve had some interviews, but haven’t been able to convert them into an offer yet. I’ve also been exploring Bangalore based roles, although remote work is my preference. Adding to the frustration, LinkedIn restricted my account and I haven’t been able to complete verification despite trying Aadhaar, PAN, Driving Licence, and Passport. I recently got accepted into Toptal, which was encouraging, but I haven’t landed a project there yet. At this point I’m mainly looking for remote, contractual, or freelance opportunities. I’m comfortable working independently, joining an existing team, or helping with SaaS platforms, web apps, mobile apps, dashboards, APIs, cloud infrastructure, and AI enabled products using LLMs and RAG architectures.
