Role Summary: Reporting to Justin, our Senior Director of Finance, you’ll take ownership of operating expense accounting for Prefect. This includes assessing and recording monthly accruals, maintaining the cash feed and ensuring transactions are accurately captured, and overseeing budget vs. actuals, T&E, vendor bill payments, and corporate card programs. You’ll be the person department leads come to when they want to understand what they’ve spent and what they have left, and the person making sure vendors and employees get paid accurately and on time. It’s a hands-on role with a lot of ownership, cross-functional visibility, and room to make the work you own more efficient as the company grows. You’ve done this before at a software or tech startup, you’re comfortable being the primary owner of a process rather than one of several hands on it, and you’re comfortable working in a modern finance stack like Ramp, Navan, and Stripe.
