Talan is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - AWS / Python to support a key client in the energy trading industry. Most engineers inherit systems. You have the chance to create one. We’re starting a greenfield data ingestion platform for the energy sector, and we need a senior Python developer to architect it and write its first line of code. Every foundational decision, from service boundaries to data models to how the system scales, will be yours to shape alongside a team that wants to get it right. Energy markets move fast, and the data behind them is high-volume, high-stakes, and often messy. Your work will power pre-trade workflows, market data, pricing, and analytics that traders and analysts depend on. You’ll build on AWS, using Python as the core language, and design for security, reliability, and scale from day one. What You’ll Do Design and build cloud-native applications, APIs, microservices, and event-driven pipelines on AWS, starting from a blank canvas. Write backend services and automation in Python that process large volumes of market and energy data reliably.
