Description
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest. The Bankruptcies & Hardships team (B&H) is a newly formed engineering group responsible for building Affirm’s core servicing platforms that support customers during critical financial moments. The team owns backend services and pipelines that orchestrate bankruptcy workflows and power compliant, reliable hardship support at scale. Engineers on this team work on distributed systems, event-driven pipelines, and high-availability services with a strong emphasis on correctness, auditability, and operational excellence. You’ll collaborate closely with product, compliance, and other platform teams while helping shape foundational systems in a greenfield environment. This is a high-impact opportunity to apply deep backend expertise in Python and Kotlin to systems that matter to both customers and the business.
