The Role As the Principal Engineer you will focus on architecting and building the flagship GeminiApp infrastructure. You will serve as the technical anchor for the application and orchestration layer, owning the code quality, architectural decisions, and system design of new design systems and functionality. You will partner closely with Product, Design, and Engineering Directors to evolve our platform, personally engineering the complex, high-performance server-side infrastructure required to support fast chat interactions and agentic workflows. In this role, you will be a leader who can balance defining a long-term technical roadmap for a paradigm-shifting infrastructure and dive deep into code to drive high velocity, stability, and quality. Key responsibilities Architect the Gemini app serving and orchestration layers. Write the design docs and define the interfaces that ensure the codebase is scalable, modular, and capable of supporting rapid innovation. Design and implement robust CI/CD pipelines and experimentation platforms. Build the tooling that enables the wider engineering team to utilize A/B testing and feature flags to safely and quickly
