io/ ) | Staff Database Reliability Engineer - PostgreSQL | Amsterdam or Remote (Europe) | Full-time | Visa Sponsorship Stream runs 35–40 PostgreSQL databases (largest: 15TB) behind high-write, high-concurrency APIs serving billions of requests a month. We're migrating from AWS RDS to self-hosted Postgres on Kubernetes and need someone who has owned this end-to-end: query plans, vacuum and bloat, replication, backup, HA, sharding. Required: deep Postgres internals (MVCC, the query planner, autovacuum), real sharding experience beyond table partitioning, self-managed databases in production, and enough engineering depth to work directly with application teams on access patterns. Explicit non-goals: RDS/Aurora-only backgrounds, analytics/data-warehouse experience, or DBAs who don't code.
