API Integration Designer (Apigee, Google Cloud) — the person in this role will design and implement enterprise-grade API management solutions using Apigee on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This is a senior technical assignment for a demanding project; candidates must have proven hands-on experience with Apigee and be prepared to work on a schedule aligned with a Middle East client (Sunday–Thursday workweek; Friday off). Responsibilities Design and implement API management solutions using Apigee on GCP, ensuring security, scalability and high performance. Create and maintain API proxies, policies and configurations according to enterprise requirements. Collaborate with enterprise architects, developers and integration teams to integrate APIs with backend systems and external services. Define, document and enforce API standards, governance guidelines and best practices. Troubleshoot and optimize API performance, applying enterprise integration patterns and observability practices. Support deployment, monitoring and lifecycle management of APIs in cloud environments. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with Apigee , including API proxy development, policy configuration, OAuth and JWT. Solid practical experience with Google Cloud Platform services relevant to API management. Strong understanding of RESTful API design, SOAP integration and API security standards (OAuth 2.0, mTLS).
