ROLE OVERVIEW VionData Partners is seeking an experienced Java Engineer to join the software engineering team of a banking client in Singapore. The engineer will build and deliver robust, scalable Java systems, solve complex legacy and production issues, and translate business and system requirements into scalable, stable and fit-for-purpose technical solutions. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Functional / Technical Develop and deliver solutions with Java, EJB, Spring Boot, MySQL, Oracle and IBM MQ. Understand business and system requirements and translate them into scalable, stable and fit-for-purpose technical solutions. Analyse, design, code and implement complex, custom-built applications. Tackle complex legacy defects that are difficult to analyse and resolve. Investigate and resolve production issues to maintain a stable production environment, remaining calm and effective in a crisis. Ensure adherence to bank standards, including code, security and performance. Work collaboratively with the team in Agile methodologies such as Scrum and/or Extreme Programming. Communicate highly technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences. Build a reputation for technical strength by helping solve problems others struggle with.
