David Kennedy Recruitment is working with a fast-growing AI technology company serving millions of users worldwide that is seeking to onboard a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join their R&D / Engineering team. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, helping design, build and scale core applications while working alongside the CTO, Tech Lead, Product Managers and SREs. The company's products include adult/NSFW content, so candidates must be fully comfortable working on them. Position: Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer Location: Europe, Remote Employment type: B2B engagement DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Ruby on Rails Collaborate with Product Managers to review requirements and translate specifications into technical solutions Prepare technical integration plans, development breakdowns and effort estimates Implement new features and improve existing platform functionality Write clean, maintainable, well-tested production code Take part in pull requests, peer code reviews and testing Troubleshoot application issues and improve reliability, performance and scalability Contribute to technical decision-making and product roadmap discussions Experiment with technologies and approaches that improve product functionality and user experience Work with distributed engineering, infrastructure and product teams REQUIREMENTS: 5+ years' commercial experience as a Backend or Full-Stack Software Engineer Strong, recent hand
