ABOUT THE ROLE As a Senior Software Engineer on Cloud Storage, you will join the core team responsible for the data backbone of our platform. We are looking for a platform-minded engineer to build and operate an ecosystem that encompasses everything from SQL (Aurora, RDS Postgres, SQL Server) and key-value stores (Redis/Valkey, DynamoDB) to Search Engines (Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Apache Solr), Object Storage (S3), and network file storage (EFS). You will work in a squad of infrastructure and software engineers, acting as a true Platform Engineering team. The mission is not just to keep the databases running flawlessly, but to drastically increase developer velocity. You will achieve this by building autonomous "storage-as-a-service" environments, creating self-service tooling, and maintaining the integration libraries, proxies, and SDKs that allow our product squads to ship features faster and with confidence. WHAT YOU WILL DO Build the Storage Platform: Design, build, and operate the services, proxies, and automation behind our SQL, NoSQL, Search, and Object Storage offerings, applying software engineering principles to operations. Scale the Data Layer: Work on sharding, replication, capacity planning, Multi-AZ resilience, and large-scale migrations (e.g., SQL Server from Windows to Linux) in a high-volume, multi-tenant environment.
