Hiring: Steel Designer (PEB & Structural Steel) Location: Lagos Employment Type: Full-time Industry: Steel Manufacturing Job Summary Our Client is seeking a talented and experienced Structural Design Engineer tojoinourEngineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the structural analysis, design, optimization, and engineering development of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), Structural Steel, and Miscellaneous Steel projects. The role requires strong technical expertise, sound engineering judgment, and close coordination with detailing, production,project management, and site teams. Key Responsibilities Perform structural analysis and design of Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB), structural steel structures, and miscellaneous steel works. Design industrial buildings, warehouses, factories, commercial buildings, canopies, mezzanines, platforms, and steel support structures. Develop design calculations and engineering reports. Design steel members, connections, foundations loading criteria, and structural systemsin accordance with project requirements. Review architectural, civil, and MEP drawings to ensure proper structural coordination. Optimize steel structures to achieve safe, economical, and practical designs. Prepare design criteria, design sketches, engineering markups, and technical specifications. Coordinate with detailing engineers to ensure design intent is accurately reflectedinfabrication drawings. Provide technical support to production, procurement, project management, andsiteteams. Review and respond to technical queries during fabrication and construction. Participate in design reviews, value engineering exercises, and project coordinationmeetings. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications. Deliver engineering packages within project schedules and deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in structural steel design. Proven experience in Pre-Engineered Buildings (PEB) and Structural Steel projects. Strong knowledge of structural analysis and steel design principles. Experience in industrial, commercial, warehouse, and steel building projects. Ability to independently perform structural calculations and design verification. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
