QA Test Engineer (Automation) | Up to £55,000 + Benefits | Remote First (UK) - x1 Day per Month in Surrey Here at Burns sheehan, we are excusively partentee with a growing UK technology business looking for a QA Test Engineer to help transform the way they deliver software. This isn't a role where you'll inherit an established automation framework. You'll be joining at the point where the business is investing heavily in automation and AI to significantly increase test coverage and reduce release cycles from weeks to hours. You'll work across web, mobile and connected devices, building modern automated testing solutions whilst using AI to improve speed and productivity. Manual testing will still play a part, particularly around complex user journeys and safety-critical functionality, but the focus is on increasing automation wherever possible. You'll be responsible for: Building and maintaining automated test frameworks using modern tools such as Playwright Working across web, mobile and connected devices Using AI tools to generate and improve automated test coverage Collaborating closely with Product and Engineering teams Improving release confidence by increasing automation and reducing manual regression testing Performing exploratory, functional and edge-case testing where automation isn't appropriate We're looking for someone with: Commercial experience with Playwright and a solid QA Automation background Experience using AI tools to improve software delivery or test automation An engineering mindset with an interest in writing clean, maintainable code Experience across web applications, with exposure to mobile automation being beneficial Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach Experience with Appium, BrowserStack, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, IoT or connected devices would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
