AWS: market
AWS is the largest cloud platform and the second most frequent technology anchor in the IT postings we track: 28 202 open positions list AWS in the requirements, 27 244 of them fresh. AWS stopped being an admin-only niche long ago: EC2, S3, Lambda, EKS and RDS appear in backend, data and ML requirements as often as in infrastructure roles. The bulk of demand comes from DevOps, Data and Fullstack roles. Alongside AWS, employers most often name Azure, Python and GCP. 42% of the postings allow remote work. This page shows live demand for engineers with AWS skills — trend, countries, seniority and the adjacent stack.
The AWS market currently has 28,202 open roles, 27,244 of them freshly observed. Median salary $9,308/mo. Observed candidate pool — 2,581.
42% of AWS postings allow fully remote work: cloud infrastructure is not tied to an office, yet the share stays below 100% — some roles require working inside the customer's environment.

Timeline: postings and sources
How many AWS postings appeared each week since 10 Aug, and from how many sources. The second line separates market growth from coverage growth: a jump in the week new sources were connected means we started seeing more, not that the market grew.
New postings and active sources per week
Sources over the period: 281
New sources connected: 17 Aug +37 · 24 Aug +17 · 31 Aug +27 · 7 Sept +17 · 14 Sept +17 · 21 Sept +28 · 28 Sept +16 · 5 Oct +17 · 12 Oct +18
Week = posting first-seen date, all statuses. A posting belongs to the technology by its stack tag; the series starts on 10 Aug 2026 — earlier tags were assigned differently and are not comparable. Sources are distinct collection channels; their names are not published.
Salaries over time
Median AWS salary per week, USD per month.
Median salary, USD per month
Only postings with a USD salary and a known period (month or year), $500–$50,000 per month. Weeks with fewer than 10 such postings are left blank — that means no data, not zero.
Remote work over time
Share of AWS postings offering fully remote work, per week.
Remote postings, %
The share is among postings that state a format (remote, hybrid, office). Weeks with fewer than 10 such postings are left blank.
Countries over time
How the share of AWS postings in each of the top countries changed, per week.
Postings in the country, %
Share among postings with a known country; the chart shows the five countries with the most postings over six months. Weeks with fewer than 20 postings with a known country are left blank. A rising share can mean a newly connected source in that country rather than market growth.

How this is measured
- Vacancy
- an open job that cleared the quality gate and lists at least two technologies
- Observed candidate
- a candidate whose stack contains this technology; an aggregate — not a single record leaves the perimeter
- Matchable candidate
- not counted yet
- Window
- jobs open at the moment the snapshot was built
About the data
- Some breakdowns are hidden: their data coverage is not yet sufficient.
- Statistics are shown only where the sample clears a quality gate.
- A missing block does not mean a value of zero.

Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions about the AWS market — short answers from the same slice.
Which roles need AWS?
Demand is widest in DevOps, Data, Fullstack and Architect roles. DevOps and platform engineers use AWS as their primary environment, backend engineers for serverless and managed services, data engineers for S3/Glue/Redshift pipelines, ML teams for SageMaker and GPU instances.
What is required together with AWS?
Most often — Azure, Python, GCP and Kubernetes. The typical combo: Terraform for infrastructure as code, Kubernetes (EKS) for orchestration, Python or Go as the working language, plus CI/CD.
Do I need AWS certifications to get shortlisted?
Certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer) appear in a share of postings as a plus rather than a filter: hands-on experience with specific services is required notably more often than a certificate.
Can I work with AWS remotely?
Yes: 42% of postings with an explicit format allow fully remote work; the slice tracks 28 202 open AWS positions. The exception is roles with access to restricted environments — those more often require presence.
